Vision, mission and values

Dook | Scots: to dip or plunge into water.

It can be scary trying something new. I believe we can create safe and welcoming space, so that when someone is brave enough to dip a toe and try something new to support their mental health, the experience is a positive one.

Vision

A world where safe and welcoming spaces exist to support people experiencing mental health challenges to get active, in ways that work for them.

Mission

Dook exists to help organisations design and deliver physical activity that genuinely supports people experiencing mental health challenges.

I do this by:

  • Designing inclusive and compassionate approaches to physical activity, so that people living with mental health challenges feel safe, welcomed, and able to take part in ways that work for them.

  • Supporting founders, leaders, and organisations to turn great ideas into reality and ensuring mental health awareness is embedded at every stage of design and delivery.

  • Championing lived experience through co-design, peer support, and lived experience leadership, ensuring that the voices of the people who the services are designed for shape decisions and systems.

Values

Authenticity : I work best with organisations that value honesty, lived experience and diverse perspectives. I show up as myself and create environments where people feel safe to do the same, because I believe that meaningful work happens when we don’t have to mask or perform.

Empathy : I lead with care, curiosity, and kindness. My work is human centred, creating spaces where participants, teams, and communities feel heard, respected, and understood.

Integrity : I work ethically and transparently, and I choose partnerships with organisations that are truly committed to inclusion. Together, we create work that is thoughtful, responsible, and respectful for the people it exists to serve.
